Navarro County Sheriff’s reports: January 03, 2008 8:19 a.m. – Deputy Morris Steward responded to a theft of property report on FM 55 near Blooming Grove where a Blackberry phone was stolen. The item was later recovered. January 05, 2008 4:36 a.m. – Deputy Keith Lewis issued a citation for speeding and no drivers license at the intersection of West Highway 31 and NWCR 2110 near Silver City. January 07, 2008 6:01 p.m. – Deputy Jason Earles responded to a forgery complaint at JJ’s Cut Rate Beer in Angus. 6:58 p.m. – Deputy Mike Wolver responded to an assault causing bodily injury (Family Violence) complaint in the 800 block of NWCR 2090 near Corsicana. 7:35 p.m. – Deputy Duane Onstott responded to a burglary of a habitation complaint in the 5000 block of NECR 0170 near Powell. The complainant reported an unknown suspect had kicked in the door, and molding inside the door was damaged from the incident, and also burglarized a vehicle where a Myron Davis Video Screen was removed from the passenger seat headrest. 9:17 p.m. – Deputies Mike Wolver, Jeramy Phillips, Duane Onstott, and Sgt. Charles Statham responded to an interference with an emergency call in the 800 block of NWCR 2090 near Corsicana. Wolver arrived earlier on the scene in reference to a family violence assault causing bodily injury call. January 08, 2008 1:04 p.m. – Deputies Scott Stephens and Kris Matthews responded to a criminal mischief complaint in the 700 block of SWCR 4125 near Dawson. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) damaged an electric line, water line, propane bottle, cut copper line and chain lock to front gate. 7:27 p.m. – Sgt. Charles Statham responded to a theft of property complaint in the 14000 block of Kerens. 10:16 p.m. – Deputy Johnny Lake responded to a theft of property complaint in the 12000 block of NECR 3120 near Kerens. The complainant advised that an unknown suspect took their mailbox and post. January 09, 2008 9:57 a.m. – DPS Trooper Matt McGinnis arrested a suspect at Mile Marker 224 on the west service road on Interstate 45 near Angus. The suspect was arrested for failure to identify fugitive from justice after someone notified authorities about a possible intoxicated driver in the area. Also responding to the call were NCSO deputies Justin Lewis, and Johnny Lake. Trooper Casey Crocker was also at the scene. 10:12 a.m. – Deputy Johnny Lake responded to a gas drive off at Angus Discount in Angus. 10:41 p.m. – Deputies Rickey Ragan, Keith Lewis, and Sgt. Charles Statham, responded to a burglary of a building complaint at Plains Marketing near the airport. The complainant advised approximately $13,000 worth of farm related implements had been stolen. One of the items, a white 2006 Day Cab Freightliner truck was later recovered. 11:24 p.m. – Deputies Gary Lane, Graig Draxlir, and Sgt. Charles Statham responded to a suspicious activity report at Mile Marker 238 on the southbound Interstate 45 service road near Rice. Deputies arrested a subject for no insurance and an open container in a motor vehicle, and public intoixcation. January 10, 2008 7:51 a.m. – Deputy Scott Stephens arrested a suspect in the 3100 block of Oakridge Drive. The suspect was arrested for driving while license suspended/invalid. 9:27 a.m. – Deputy Kris Matthews responded to a theft of property complaint in the 400 block of East Highway 22 near Frost. The complainant reported that an unknown suspect removed two ATV’s and a utility trailer valued at $16,400 from the listed location. 9:52 a.m. – Deputy Scott Stephens responded to a theft of property complaint in the 1000 block of West Highway 22 near Barry. The complainant advised that an unknown suspect stole a Bobcat with a Miller Welder worth $5,000. January 11, 2008 1:34 p.m. – Deputy Keith Lewis made an arrest on West Highway 31 near Corsicana. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication, no drivers license, and driving while license suspended/sr. The suspects vehicle was towed by Singletons.
