Twilight Nursing Home announced the opening of their new secured wing recently.

The new wing was put into operation on June 9, 2008, and is designed for residents who may have behavior needs, or problems with wandering, to ease the minds of their friends and loved ones.

The home has taken extra steps in providing for the safety and well-being of their residents, especially those with special needs by providing a secured environment that is well-monitored to ensure family members and friends that their loved one will not wander from the home and into harms way.

The secured wing offers the same relaxed atmosphere for residents as is offered to other residents who live elsewhere in the home.

The wing can accommodate up to 22 residents, with private dining, activities, a shower room complete with whirlpool tub, and the added individual attention needed for residents with special needs.

An outdoor area is available for the residents to enjoy, with a tree shaded environment and gazebo.

Residents are not entirely confined to the secured wing as they, too, can enjoy special activities with the rest of the residents from time to time.

Twilight Nursing Home is a 102 bed skilled facility that accepts Medicare/Medicaid and private pay as well, in addition to offering on site Hospice and an exceptional therapy department.

The home accepts both male and female residents, as well as couples wishing to remain together during their twilight years.

There’s always something going on at TNH, with activities, special parties, and especially when volunteers drop by just to visit with residents, or provide fun filled entertainment for them.

TNH has been a part of the Corsicana community for over 56 years.

Julia Franz is the home’s administrator, and Cori Ogburn serves as the Director of Nurses, as well as overseeing three assistant D.O.N.’s.

Openings are available in the new wing, and tours are welcome anytime with no phone call necessary.
