September 24, 1926 – July 18, 2008 

Myrtle French Whitener, age 81, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2008 in Corsicana, Texas.  She was a resident of Corsicana and a homemaker.  She was born on September 24, 1926 to Sam French and Essie Thomas French.  
She is survived by 3 Daughters - Jean and her husband David Lipscomb of Corsicana, Betty and her husband Sonny Leathers of Austin and Maxine and Jim Singiser of Hacienda Hts., California; Brother - Victor and his wife Dot French of Dawson;  2 Sisters-in-law - Suletta French of Athens and Helen French of Dawson; 8 Grandchildren - Audrey Lipscomb, Nancy Lipscomb, Gina Hewerdine, Sonya McCory, Kristy Vagas, Barry Singiser, Steve Singiser and Mike Radke; 11 great-grandchildren. 
Service is scheduled for Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel at 5:00 p.m., with Mickey Loftis officiating.  Interment will be in the Dawson Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Doug Hewerdine, Dave McCory, Jose Vargas, Shorty French, Jimmy French and Donald J. Langley.
