The Seventh Annual Celebrity Waiter Fundraiser was held Tuesday evening at Napoli’s Pizza and Restaurant. The wait staff consisted of bankers, doctors, lawyers, city officials, clergy, and other local V.I.P. celebrities. Over $3,100 in tips was raised for the event, which benefited the Corsicana Residential Treatment Center’s Community Residential Council. The money will be used in a variety of areas at the treatment facility such as bus tickets for family members to visit residents, and duffle bags to be issued for personal items when a resident is released, as well as birthday cakes, gifts, and more. Adrin Shalanr, co-owner of Napoli’s, said he had over 50 reservations called in before noon on Tuesday, and expected to have more.
Each and every table was packed shortly after 5:30 p.m., with the celebrity waiters running around the restaurant trying to keep up with food and drink orders, and making sure there were plenty of smiles to go around.
