Sometimes the bad news is so overwhelming that we forget the good stories. Here is a story about an energetic and bright little boy who has overcome some real hurdles in his young life thanks to modern medicine and surgical techniques, and a lot of prayer. Briar Holman of Frost was born nearly five weeks early with three holes in his heart. He had major surgery when he was only five months old, but since then, Briar has been going strong. He goes for an annual check up every year until he is through growing and then he will need a check up every five years to make sure none of the holes reopen. Saturday, August 9, 2008, family and friends gathered to celebrate Briar's fifth birthday. Pictured are buddies Miky, Kyle, Alyse, and Ethan.
