A fatal single vehicle roll-over crash claimed the life of a Kerens man early Sunday morning near Eureka.According to a Department of Public Safety report, Ronald Earl Crowder, 53, of Kerens, was traveling eastbound on FM 2859, when his 1998 Chevrolet one-ton pickup left the roadway from the south side of the road.According to the report, Crowder tried to get the pickup back on the roadway, but overcorrected and left the road on the north side crossing over a private drive.He again overcorrected the pickup, causing the vehicle to slide sideways through a bar ditch where the truck rolled over several times before coming to a stop upside down.The report indicates that Crowder was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, and that he was partially ejected from the vehicle.Trooper Casey Crocker investigated the accident, and was assisted by Trooper Matt McGinnis.Also at the scene were Navarro County Sheriff’s deputies, Corsicana Fire and Rescue, and Eureka Volunteer Fire Department.Funeral services for Crowder have been arranged through Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.Crowder was born in Irving.Graveside services have been set for Saturday, September 27, 2008, for 11 a.m. at Hopewell Cemetery.
